- Support prototyping through hands-on fabrication, machining oversight, 3D printing, and vendor coordination.
- Work closely with electrical, RF, and software teams to integrate mechanical designs into complete system builds.
- Build and test mechanical prototypes; collect data, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective design updates.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation for production handoff.
- Support assembly processes, test fixtures, and DFM/DFT activities for smooth scaling into production.
- Participate in field testing and evaluate mechanical performance in operational environments.
- Develop structural, thermal, and tolerance analyses to ensure designs meet performance, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of mechanical design experience from concept through production.
- Strong proficiency with CAD software (Fusion, SolidWorks, or similar) including assemblies, surfacing, and drawing creation.
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience; comfortable with tools, fixtures, and hardware debugging.
- Experience with structural, thermal, and tolerance analysis (FEA experience a plus).
- Knowledge of common manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, injection molding, composites, additive manufacturing).
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status.
Preferred Skills
- Experience designing for ruggedized, aerospace, or robotics applications.
- Familiarity with CFD or advanced simulation workflows.
- Background integrating mechanical designs with electronics, sensors, and embedded systems.
- Experience managing vendors, fabrication houses, and prototype shops.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, resource-constrained startup environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
