NALA is seeking a talented financial leader with a demonstrated track record of raising both institutional VC equity and non-dilutive debt for complex manufacturing. Ideal candidates will be able to build and run a capital plan to enable NALA to scale pilots into repeatable production while protecting unit economics and cash runway. NALA's CFO will partner with the CEO and executive team to create, implement, and manage the company’s financial strategy. They will lead the organization's financial planning and accounting practices, as well as its relationships with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations & Reporting - Execute, lead, and oversee the organization's operating financial strategy, making sure all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, audits, tax, real estate, insurance, and cash flow management, are aligned with business objectives. Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. Assists with day-to-day operations such as payroll, benefits, financial contributions, and budgeting for salaries and new hires. Own the monthly board financial package and issue monthly reports on the organization's financial stability and growth.Financial Strategy and Planning - Develop and execute organizations’ long-term financial strategy and budgeting, aligning with business objectives and R&D pipelines. In partnership with the CEO, ideal candidates will be able to effectively translate membrane pilot-to-production milestones into a 3-year model, which outlines hiring, capex, working capital, and cash runway, each tied to decision gates and capital requirements.R&D and Capital Management - Oversee capital raising, debt financing, investor relations, and grant funding. Evaluates and recommends business partnering opportunities. Establishes and maintains contacts with stockholders, financial institutions, and the investment community. Lead end-to-end fundraising for both equity and debt (materials, data room, pipeline, term negotiation, closing). Design and execute any covenant and compliance reporting lenders require during the manufacturing ramp.Risk Management & Compliance - Identify, manage, and mitigate financial risks, reporting monthly to leadership and the board.Financial & Strategic Leadership - Collaborate with R&D, operations, sales, and the CEO to optimize cost management, pricing models, and operations efficiencies. Provide financial insights to support key operations and strategic financial decisions. Own unit-level economics and project ROI analysis; build standard cost and variance tracking; run sensitivities and own capital allocation recommendations. Lead complex supply chain and partnership structuring: negotiate terms that move margin and cash, and reduce single points of failure. Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree or equivalent, Master’s degree preferred.10+ years related experience and/or training, including senior finance leadership in high-growth manufacturing businesses (Seed–Series B preferred).Experience in high-growth entrepreneurial companies, specifically scaling complex manufacturing with demonstrated ownership of unit economics, inventory/working capital, and cost accounting. Bio tech or manufacturing required.Demonstrated early-stage fundraising track record: comfortable with diligence, term sheets, covenants, and investor/lender reporting. Language SkillsFluency in English is required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
