The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated intern to join our design team for either a master thesis or a 4-to-6-month internship. A combination of both (6-month internship + master thesis) is also encouraged. As an intern, you will simulate and evaluate state-of-the-art microcontrollers and you will have the opportunity to build your own MCU subsystem and to verify and program it in C/C++ on FPGA.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Contribute to research activities focused on enhancing digital architecture for microcontroller systems.
- Develop digital components using SystemVerilog, as part of MCU subsystem design.
- Support the creation and integration of MCU subsystems, including FPGA-based verification and embedded software development in C/C++.
Qualifications
What You’ll Need
To be considered for an internship, you must be a student currently enrolled in a school pursuing an accredited degree program. This position is specifically looking for someone who will be enrolled in a Master’s or doctoral program in Electrical Engineering or related field with emphasis on FPGA/chip level circuit design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with coursework on digital circuit design
- Knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog or VHDL for digital design (RTL)
- Understanding of computer architecture (e.g. caches, pipelining, hazards, RISC, SIMD, etc.)
- Embedded programming experience with C/C++
- Good written and verbal communication skills (English and/or French)
- Strong team player and ability to work well in a collaborative environment
- Eligibility to work in Switzerland.

- Knowledgeable with the Linux shell environment
