Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Cost Reduction Engineer, Site Champion. The ideal candidate will oversee, track, and push progress for all committed cost projects' on-time execution, drive and initiate new cost-down projects across functional teams and buildup multi-year cost savings funnel. This role requires a blend of financial acumen, engineering knowledge, and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Monitor and ensure timely execution of all committed cost reduction projects.
- Progress Tracking: Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
- Initiative Leadership: Drive and initiate new cost-down projects across various functional teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Cost Savings Funnel: Develop and maintain a robust cost savings funnel, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and year-on-year savings.
- Financial Analysis: Utilize financial knowledge to understand cost spend in detail by each P&L category and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Engineering Expertise: Apply engineering knowledge on materials, production supplies usage, maintenance life span, utilities to optimize cost efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, process and equipment engineering, finance, procurement, and other teams to ensure cohesive and effective implementation of cost-saving measures.
- Benchmarking: Benchmark cost reduction strategies across other factories & versus entitlement cost, to continuously drive down costs and improve productivity & profitability.
- Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular updates and detailed reports on project progress, cost savings achieved, forecast savings and future opportunities.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Best Practices: Implement industry best practices and innovative solutions to optimize cost efficiency and operational performance.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, cost reduction, or a related role within the semiconductor industry.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
- Proven track record of driving cost reduction initiatives and achieving measurable savings.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, able to customize and automate reports (e.g., through Tableau platform)
- Financial knowledge to analyze cost spend and identify opportunities.
- Engineering knowledge related to materials, production supplies, and maintenance life span.
