As a Process Engineer at onsemi, you will develop, and support etch and implant processing in the 24x5 manufacturing of wafers used for Automotive and Consumer applications throughout the world. You will also provide process engineering support for additional process areas. In this team-based environment, you will work closely with Device, Process and Design Engineers to provide robust, quality products to our customers.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Own certain critical etch, photo, or implant processes and associated measurement equipment in a fast-paced, 24/5 manufacturing environment.
- Final Process Engineering responsibilities will be determined based off of applicants background and manufacturing needs.
- Apply technical skills to implement equipment and process improvements that increase product performance, reduce cost and increase throughput and yield.
- Design and document experiments utilizing engineering methodology to improve yield, cost, throughput.
- Resolve complex, time sensitive technical problems to maintain production or development schedules.
- As an Etch/Photo/Implant Process Engineer, you will be expected to make decisions using data analysis and statistical process control (SPC) techniques.

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical, Electrical, Material Science, Physics, or other related engineering discipline required
- Self-starter with a history of project completion, and a focus on organization and detail.
- Strong communicator, who can effectively work with a team of manufacturing operators, equipment and process technicians as well as other engineers to work towards overall department improvement.
- Semiconductor experience, through full-time industry experience, internships, or coursework/labs is preferred
- Programming experience is a plus
- As an Etch/Photo/Implant Process Engineer you will need to demonstrate the following within the first three to six months:
- Provide daily process and product lot disposition support in the respective processing area.
- Learn to operate and utilize inspection and metrology tools in the respective processing area for the purpose of process and lot characterization and disposition.
- Acquire/demonstrate fundamental understanding of semiconductor, photolithography, etch or implant process and equipment.
- Within the first six to twelve months,
- Show measurable progress improving the area’s performance in support of the site’s goals.
- Working with other engineers and technicians, lead and deliver on at least one cost reduction or yield improvement project.
- Develop advanced sustaining responsibilities and contribute to cost reduction, yield improvement and production throughput increase.
