Job Summary:
As a Wafer Fab Manager, you are responsible for the efficient and effective operation of our processing equipment. You are also responsible for leading and mentoring your team. Your presence on the production floor is the key leadership influence for the largest segment of our site population and you must be ready to step up in a variety of unexpected situations. You are the first rung of escalation of any issue that can lead to injury, lost productivity, or product quality. Since you are generally closest to an issue, you will often be the one to coordinate resolution of issues that you discover or are alerted to.
This role is 25% strategic and 75% tactical in nature.

Key Responsibilities
- Using key metrics and your own fab knowledge, you monitor the health of the Fab and redirect priorities as needed. You must become an expert at interpreting these metrics.
- Escalate Safety observations to appropriate stakeholders for resolution. Ensure that issues are followed through to closure.
- Identify and escalate production impactors to insure the even and efficient flow of our production line.
- Monitor and escalate hold and priority material in our line to get it dispositioned, released, and processed.
- Identify, develop, and execute continuous improvement projects that are aligned with the mission and strategic vision of the site
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement Kaizen Events
- Lead and mentor Zone leads to be successful in their role.
- Identify and develop talent in your team toward future opportunities and personal career growth.
- Promote a culture of safety in your team by setting a good example and reinforcing correct behaviors.
- Build a rewards and recognition culture in your team where peers recognize peers using programs made available to you.
- Promote a “winning team” culture on your shift by establishing benchmark performance metrics and reinforcing execution standards on your shift. These standards must include setting up other shifts for success as well.
- Hold 1-1 meetings with your team members every 8 weeks. These meetings are to gauge personal engagement, career motivation, follow up on previously discussed concerns, performance recognition or corrective feedback. These meetings are a tool in improving our culture. Ensure that these events reinforce behaviors that build a winning culture.
- Conduct performance management sessions, as needed, as part of our discipline process for employees whose behavior or attendance are out of guidelines or are a disruption to our operation. Escalate to Production Manager for support as needed.
- Manage the Training Shift readiness metrics and build a flexible team through deliberate cross training. This should ideally be done through a system of training profiles and LMS reporting.
- Perform mid-year and end of year performance appraisals using a standardized and objective assessment method.
- Provide weekly reports and updates on shift metrics and progress on projects as requested by production manager.
- Provide Daily passdown and impactors document as defined by Production Manager.
- Facilitate morning operation meeting between production and engineering teams.
