This person will work to understand the material structure-device property relationships, and drive device technology improvements through to discrete device qualification and pilot production. Requirements:
- Masters or Ph.D. preferred, in engineering or a science, with 3+ years of industrial/manufacturing experience.
- Experience investigating GaN crystal defect configurations for high power electronic device development.
- Working knowledge of XRD and Topography imaging systems (Synchrotron or Lab) a plus.
- Working knowledge of semiconductor thin film growth a plus.
- Experience with Minitab, JMP, Tableau or similar software preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, planning and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to manage conflict in a stressful environment.
- Understands and listens to team members and fosters a productive team environment.
- Handles multiple projects and priorities.
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.

onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $101,700.00-$172,700.00 range exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. - Responsible for various aspects of technology development including process integration, device design, technology design rules, test chip, parametric testing, and process qualification.
- Propose technology design rules based on tool and process capabilities.
- Analysis and correlation of inline fab data and electrical data.
- Work with process engineers to:
- Define and track fab experiments including statistical data analysis, documentation of results, and driving next steps.
- Drive unit modules to process maturity milestones.
- Define next-generation process architecture and be responsible for technology scaling.
- Ensure site procedures and workflows are consistent with corporate practices.
- Maintains documentation records for all internal samples.
- Prepares periodic reports of performance for upper management.
- Other tasks as needed or assigned.
