The Failure Analysis Lab Technician supports failure analysis, DPA/CDPA, and reliability activities for all devices especially GaN devices by performing material characterization, sample preparation, and routine analytical measurements. This role focuses on hands-on laboratory execution, tool operation, and data collection to support GaN qualification and customer reliability requirements.

- Diploma or associate degree in Materials Science, Electronics, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field
- 1–3 years of experience in a semiconductor material analysis, FA, or reliability lab.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor device structures and material characterization concepts
- Willingness to work with delicate samples and hazardous materials under controlled procedures
- Experience with GaN or compound semiconductor devices will be considered an added advantage
- Hands-on exposure to SEM, FIB, EDX or failure analysis workflows
- Familiarity with DPA/CDPA standards (AEC-Q, JEDEC, internal specs)
- Keen to work in laboratory environment and try a new thing
- Perform failure analysis, material analysis and characterization on GaN and related semiconductor devices to support DPA/CDPA, FA, and qualification activities.
- Prepare samples for analysis, including decapsulation, cross-sectioning, polishing, cleaving, grinding, mounting, and basic metallographic preparation.
- Operate and maintain material analysis and FA laboratory tools such as: Optical microscope, SEM and EDX.
- Support Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA) and Construction Analysis (CDPA) per internal and customer specifications.
- Document results clearly through lab notes, reports, and image annotation, ensuring traceability and data integrity.
- Assist engineers in root-cause investigations by providing timely and accurate analysis data.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance, tool qualification checks, and 5S activities in the lab.
