Job Responsibilities

OnSemi is seeking a Distinguished MTS of IC Design – Power Management, to join our growing team in Bangalore, India. This group is responsible for development of Power management products including WBG Drivers (SiC, GaN), LED Drivers, DC-DC PMIC/POL, Multiphase controllers, Smart Power Stages, Switches and efuses/hotswap controllers for consumer, industrial and automotive applications.

In this role, you will focus on the following:

  • Lead architectural investigations and implement complex analog circuits for Power management ICs, switches, Drivers and DC-DC converters
  • Design, optimize and verify critical circuits for Power management ICs to meet performance targets
  • Define architectural platforms for Power IC with focus on sharing IP across different applications for time-to-market improvement
  • Drive design reviews to ensure highly reliable IP development flows
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, layout, digital, verification and silicon bring-up/validation teams from design till production
  • Provide technical leadership in driving architecture design and circuit design based on high-level specifications
  • Collaborate with overseas design and systems teams on technical aspects, IP development, sharing of know-how
  • Mentor a diverse team of experienced and junior Analog/Power IC design engineers
  • Lead, motivate, provide technical training for analog/power IC designers
  • Understand technical aspects, good practices, and design methodologies for power management IC designs
  • Collaborate closely with the Systems team to understand system requirements and specification tradeoffs
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new systems, tools, processes, and technologies to improve design, reuse organizational processes and decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Solid track record of defining architecture and releasing complex power/analog ICs to market
  • Experience in defining microarchitecture and specification of IP blocks from system level specifications
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and methodologies
  • Experience in simplifying complex problems into smaller problems and solving them as a team
  • Solid understanding of various Power Converters such as Buck, Boost, LDOs, and relevant Analog building blocks
  • Solid understanding of topologies and architectures for Constant-on-time, Peak, and Valley Current Mode, Voltage Mode, Hysteretic, Multi-Phase Controllers, and Smart Power Stages
  • Strong Analog IC design skills, debug of complex silicon problems using simulations and/or bench testing
  • Familiarity with advanced Bipolar, CMOS, and High Voltage BCD technology, Process, Device Physics, Semiconductor Manufacturing processes, and their impact on Analog performance
  • understanding of large power transistor (LDMOS) Design, Layout, and Robustness
  • Proficiency in leading-edge design and verification tools such as Simplis or MATLAB for architectural simulations, Cadence Spectre for schematic capture, simulation, layout, and tape-out
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related 20 and above years of experience, or MS 18 and above years of experience
