We are seeking a Tool Install & Construction Engineer to support semiconductor tool installation, facility infrastructure coordination, and construction project management within our East Fishkill manufacturing site. In this role, you will serve as a technical leader who ensures process equipment, facility systems, and construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with onsemi standards. This position requires a strong background in semiconductor tool install, construction engineering, facilities engineering, or related fields.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Engineering, or other engineering disciplines
- 3+ years of experience in facilities engineering or industrial construction.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor facility systems such as UPW, CDA, toxic/flammable gases, exhaust, HVAC, electrical distribution, and chilled water.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and construction documents.
- Experience working with OEM tool vendors and/or construction contractors.
- Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cleanroom construction or operational environments
- Knowledge of SEMI standards and high-tech construction best practices
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Prior experience in a 200mm or 300mm semiconductor fab
onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $88,700-$142,000 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate semiconductor tool install projects from design through commissioning.
- Develop installation scopes of work, design packages, and schedules in collaboration with internal teams and external contractors.
- Interface with manufacturing, facilities, construction management, and OEM vendors to ensure successful tool hookups (electrical, mechanical, chemical, gas, exhaust, etc.).
- Review and approve engineering drawings, submittals, and construction documentation.
- Ensure all construction and install activities adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Monitor field progress; resolve technical issues; lead install coordination meetings when required.
- Support capacity, layout, and infrastructure planning for future expansion projects.
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation and ensure compliance with SEMI, NEC, and local building codes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline install processes and optimize cost, quality, and throughput.
- Ensure all work is completed safety.
