onsemi is seeking a Furnace Diffusion Module Engineering Technician to support semiconductor process modules in the Asm/Tel Module in our Hopewell Junction, East Fishkill, NY site. This role involves hands-on support of equipment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and sustaining activities in a cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers and manufacturing to ensure optimal performance and reliability of semiconductor manufacturing modules.

Qualifications:
- Education: High School Degree (or equivalent)
- 2+ years of experience in a semiconductor fab or technical support role preferred.
- Familiarity with Furnace semiconductor process modules and equipment (e.g., Asm, Tel)
- Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, vacuum technology, and plasma physics. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Problem-solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills to isolate and remedy complex issues on advanced equipment.
- Adaptability: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while dealing with shifting priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing facility.
- Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with engineers and manufacturing teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts or weekends as needed.
- Physical Capacity Demands – Able to perform shift work on a 12-hour night shift schedule, including working in a cleanroom environment per Semiconductor industry and Onsemi protocol/requirements.
- Able to wear all required clean room and safety protective clothing and equipment throughout a 12-hour day (excluding breaks).
- Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues.
- Able to perform work in a standing position for the majority of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)
- Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring a high level of attention to detail and timeliness.
onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $25.53 -$44.76 per hour exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. Responsibilities:
- Preventive and corrective maintenance: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and calibrations on complex electro-mechanical, vacuum, and RF (radio-frequency) systems to minimize equipment downtime.
- Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnose and repair hardware and process failures using diagnostic equipment, schematics, and specialized software.
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, test results, and repairs. Use this data to help refine standardized work procedures.
- Coordination and teamwork: Communicate with manufacturing, process engineers, and other cross-functional teams to coordinate equipment downtime and perform wafer recoveries after maintenance.
- Safety and inventory: Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety protocols. Maintain spare parts inventory to quickly address maintenance needs.
- Maintain training documentation and assist in the training of peers.
- Deep understanding of safety procedures and ownership to drive continuous improvement
- Assist engineers in the setup, calibration, and optimization of semiconductor process equipment.
- Collect and analyze process data using statistical process control (SPC) tools and software.
- Support experiments and engineering evaluations by preparing wafers, running process recipes, and documenting results.
- Monitor tool performance and yield metrics, escalating issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate logs of tool status, process changes, and engineering activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineering, equipment engineering, and manufacturing operations.
- Ensure compliance with cleanroom protocols, EHS standards, and company policies.
