onsemi is seeking a Director, Global Tax Accounting to lead worldwide income tax accounting (ASC 740). This is a senior leadership role, for a hands-on, forward-looking tax professional who combines deep technical expertise with a strong track record in modernizing processes, improving data quality, and driving efficiency through systems and automation.
Reporting to the VP, Global Tax, this role owns global tax accounting and U.S. income tax compliance, partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, and IT, and serves as the primary point of contact with external auditors. The Director will play a critical role in strengthening tax accounting governance, improving close efficiency, enhancing audit readiness, and delivering clear, executive-level insights to senior leadership and the Audit Committee.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s in Taxation or Accounting preferred.
- CPA required.
- 12–15+ years of progressive experience in tax accounting, including significant ASC 740 leadership experience in a public company and/or Big Four environment.
- Preference to have experience with systems, including but not limited to Oracle Fusion, ONESOURCE Income Tax (OIT), Oracle Tax Reporting Cloud Service, Alteryx or similar, and the ability to leverage these tools to drive accuracy, efficiency, and strong controls.
- Demonstrates success reducing manual processes through workflow standardization, data integration, and thoughtful use of automation and analytics within the tax provision and close.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax, with exposure to international tax considerations and global manufacturing operations.
- Proven ability to communicate complex tax accounting issues clearly to non-tax stakeholders and executive audiences.
- Lead the quarterly and annual global income tax provision under ASC 740, including current and deferred taxes, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, effective tax rate analysis, and return-to-provision true-ups.
- Prepare and oversee tax-related disclosures for Forms 10-Q, 10-K, earnings materials, and other external reporting, including ASU 2023-09 requirements.
- Own tax accounting policies and ensure consistent, defensible application across global operations.
- Serve as the primary tax accounting liaison for external auditors, supporting quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SOX testing.
- Oversee U.S. federal and state income tax compliance in coordination with the in-house compliance team, ensuring alignment with the tax provision.
