As an Applications Technician at onsemi, you’ll play a key hands‑on role in advancing the company’s intelligent power technologies. You will support application engineers across a range of activities, including product evaluation, device optimization, development, and maintenance of critical lab processes. Your work will involve equipment selection, test setup design, automation, data collection, and the creation and assembly of evaluation boards (EVBs). You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that keep the lab running efficiently and innovatively.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in a related technical discipline.
- Hands‑on experience working with technical equipment, instrumentation, soldering, EVB design, or laboratory environments.
- Strong analytical skills with familiarity using data tools such as Excel, JMP, or similar software.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to document work thoroughly and accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic scripting or automation experience (e.g., LabVIEW, Python) is considered an asset.
- Proficient in using lab equipment, oscilloscope, power load, power meter, etc
- Proficient in assembling (soldering) surface mount components
- Execute Laboratory Experiments: Perform hands‑on lab experiments following established protocols, collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support engineering evaluations and root‑cause investigations. Carry out engineering test plans, including DOE runs, process trials, and new product introduction (NPI) activities.
- Prototyping & Assembly: Assist with the build, assembly, and troubleshooting of prototype units and new product samples to support development and validation efforts.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of specialized laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure accurate and reliable test performance.
- Data Documentation: Maintain detailed, organized records of experimental procedures and results. Prepare technical reports, data summaries, charts, and presentations for engineering and cross‑functional teams.
- Inventory & Safety: Manage laboratory supplies and project‑specific material needs while maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment. Adhere to all lab safety protocols and support continuous improvements in workplace safety.
