The Mechanical Finishing Process Engineer owns the integrated test, tape‑and‑reel, automated vision inspection, and final packing and shipment processes. This role ensures robust screening of visual and mechanical defects prior to reel, enabling high outgoing quality and reliable customer delivery. The engineer will develop, optimize, and control mechanical finishing processes while driving yield improvement, defect reduction, and operational efficiency across test‑to‑ship flow.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in semiconductor back‑end, test, or mechanical finishing processes
- Hands‑on experience with tape & reel, packing, and shipment operations
- Experience with automated vision inspection systems and defect classification
- Strong understanding of mechanical and cosmetic defect mechanisms
- Proficiency in data analysis, yield improvement, and root‑cause analysis
- Familiarity with ESD controls and semiconductor quality standards
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
- Own end‑to‑end mechanical finishing process: post‑test handling, tape & reel, vision inspection, packing, and shipment
- Develop and maintain automated vision inspection programs to detect visual and mechanical defects
- Define defect criteria, limits, and disposition rules prior to reel
- Analyze yield, defect Pareto, and escape data; drive continuous improvement actions
- Optimize tape‑and‑reel parameters (pocket design, orientation, pitch, cover tape, ESD control)
- Lead process qualification, validation, and change management activities
- Interface with Test, Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth handoff
- Support customer quality requirements, audits, and failure investigations
- Create and maintain SOPs, control plans, PFMEA, and work instructions
