A Manufacturing Probe Process Engineer with onsemi in Nampa supports the manufacture and testing of Image Sensor parts. The primary responsibility of the Manufacturing Probe Process Engineer is to sustain probe processes and drive engineering issues to resolution with the objective to minimize impacts to the time it takes to successfully test a given manufacturing lot. The Probe Process Engineer will actively support the shift Probe Technicians with issues and events that occur, helping them minimize equipment downtime. The Probe Process Engineer will work with the manufacturing and Image Sensor Group Test Engineering groups to implement SPC for probe (with the desired metrics) and the procedures required to manage this system. Additionally, the Probe Process Engineer will work with those teams to support the systems in place for flags and pause bins. The long-term goal is to have a mature process in place for the probe team to monitor testing performance with the ability to troubleshoot and make improvements to the established processes. Actively work to identify and participate in improvement projects for the Probe area. The Probe process engineer will need to attend and participate in scheduled meetings and communicate with co-workers the status of projects.

- Bachelor's of Science Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent process engineering experience

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Support the shift Probe Technicians with issues that impact testing. Knowledge of the equipment (IP750 testers, Accretech Probers, ESI lasers, and Screen scrubbers) will be gained through on-the-job training and working with the equipment owners and the shift technicians.
- Build knowledge and an understanding of probe test development and workflow.
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis skills to implement test process control charts, develop reactions to out-of-control/specification (OOC/OOS) conditions, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop engineering skills to evaluate probe results using statistical methods, implement solutions, and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Identify probe/test issues and work with the appropriate cross-functional teams to develop solutions
- Prepare thorough written and verbal pass-downs of shift activities, tool issues, process issues, and project status
- Create Work Instructions, BKM’s, and any associated training certifications.
- Work closely with the lead engineer and production supervisor, keeping them advised of area issues and progress
- As new Probe Process Engineers are hired, the current engineer will be responsible to help in the development of the new engineers.
