onsemi is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Equipment Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead and optimize the performance, reliability, and sustainment of manufacturing equipment supporting Implant, IHR, and Probe operations. This role is critical to ensure safe, reliable, and cost‑effective equipment operation in a 24/7 semiconductor manufacturing environment. Team: Equipment Engineers and Technicians on a four-shift compressed work week.

  • Budget: $3M-4M for Spares/Consumables.

Area: Implant, IHR, and Probe
Shift: Days (supports 24/7 operations)

Equipment:

  • Ion Implant/Epitaxy: Varian / VIISta HCP, 3000XP, VIISta 810; Axcelis GSD200, ASM Epsilon 2000
  • IHR: Supporting various equipment in electrical and mechanical repair
  • Test / Probe:
    • Keithley / Agilent parametric testers
    • Credence probe testers
    • Electroglass wafer probers and cards

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Mechatronics, or related).
  • 5+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment engineering or maintenance.
  • 2+ years of experience leading or supervising technical teams.
  • Demonstrated success in change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of equipment reliability methods, maintenance systems (CMMS), and KPI‑driven performance management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA.
  • Experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Budget ownership experience for maintenance, spares, or consumables.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or structured continuous improvement training.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of 15 direct reports (4 Equipment Engineers, 11 Maintenance Technicians) supporting 24/7 operations.
  • Own equipment performance KPIs, including uptime, line yield, and cost.
  • Provide technical leadership and escalation support for complex equipment issues across implant, EPI, and probe/test systems.
  • Ensure the IHR program continues to improve repair reliability, reduce cost, and reduce cycle time relative to external repair services.
  • Make recommendations for IHR program enhancements, including tools, fixtures, or workspace needs, justified by performance data and ROI analysis.
  • Drive equipment reliability and uptime improvement initiatives, including RCA, FMEA, LSS, and PM optimization.
  • Partner with Process Engineering, Production, Quality, Facilities, and EHS to resolve tool, process, and safety issues.
  • Ensure safe and compliant execution of maintenance activities, including adherence to LOTO, chemical safety, and site EHS standards.
  • Maintain equipment documentation, PMs, work instructions, certifications, and training requirements.
  • Plan, manage, and control a $2.9M annual spare parts and consumables budget, including forecasting and cost optimization.
  • Manage supplier relationships, service strategies, and spare part repair loops to reduce the total cost of ownership.
  • Support audits, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
