onsemi is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to operate, maintain, repair and install machinery and systems that support manufacturing operations and to maintain the site's Building and Grounds infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be reliable and have good mechanical skills and experience in industrial maintenance.

Work hours: 8:30AM - 8:30PM - 4 days on/4 days off

Pay rate: $24.50/hr

Educational Requirements:

  • Two year trades based degree or equivalent.
  • Must attain acceptable scores, as determined by management, on pre-screening exams. Must have knowledge of the National Electrical Code.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, climb, kneel, crawl, twist, and reach on a frequent basis over entire shift.
  • Must have sufficient dexterity to use tools and grasp small parts.
  • Must be able to pass required surveillance physicals, including but not limited to criteria for vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing requirements.
  • May have to work in awkward positions from time to time.
  • Tasks may require high levels of force and repetition for short periods of time.
  • Must be able to push/pull up to 1000 lbs (typically several hundred pounds) on a rolling cart.
  • Must have sufficient hand manipulation and ability to grasp/use tools frequently during shift.

Essential Functions:

  • This job description in no way implies that the duties listed here are the only ones the employee will be required to perform.   • Team participation and team approach to problem solving will be expected of all individuals covered by the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Performs a wide range of maintenance duties on electrical and mechanical equipment and other facilities necessary to operate the plant.
  • Maintain responsibility for all facilities equipment including but not limited to heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and cooling devices, factory air circulating equipment and exhaust equipment, waste treatment systems, boiler operations, deionized water system (including recharging), lubrication, and general housekeeping. The monitoring of the facilities equipment may be accomplished via computer terminals throughout the plant and/or daily maintenance rounds of the facility, as well as other methods.
  • May perform variety of pipe fitting repairs and installations including but not limited to threading steel pipe, soldering brass/copper pipe and gluing PVC pipe.
  • May construct, repair, and maintain structural woodwork and wooden equipment.
  • May perform repairs and installations requiring the cutting, assembling, fitting and installation using a variety of materials including, but not limited to, sheet metal or PVC piping.
  • May perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems such as, but not limited to pumps, fans and gearboxes.
  • Works from verbal or written instructions, drawings, schematics or sketches.
  • Maintains safety at all times.
  • By virtue of their skills, may be required to successfully complete HAZMAT training and serve as a member of the HAZMAT team.
  • Team participation and team approach to problem solving will be expected of all individuals covered by the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Is responsible for maintaining clean room protocols.
  • Obtains and maintains all required skill certifications.
  • Uses quality techniques in performance of assigned tasks.
  • Maintains equipment and working areas in a clean, orderly condition.
  • May be required to work at heights greater than six feet with appropriate fall protection.
  • May be required to perform tasks in confined spaces.

Marginal Functions:

  • Duties may also include painting where required.
  • May be required to aid in the training of new employees or lesser skilled employees.
  • Makes adjustments and connections to process gas lines.
  • Delivers and connects process gases.
  • May assist other union occupations.
