Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (EE, EET, or similar)
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot. and repair electronic circuity without the use of schematics or other documentation.
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electromechanical assemblies without the use of repair manuals or other documentation.
- Ability to read, understand, and utilize schematics and other engineering documents.
- Skill in soldering and use of repair tools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electronic and mechanical devices
- Physical ability and strength to work in awkward positions or tight spaces, including lifting 40+ pounds.
- Must possess good interpersonal, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Area Equipment:
- Test instruments – DVMs, oscilloscopes, LCR meters, programmable power supplies, device programmers, etc.
- Hand tools
- Computers
- Thermal imaging
Specific responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoot a wide variety of defective electronic and electromechanical equipment to component level.
- Source replacement components for repair or upgrade.
- Establish programs and solutions for increasing tool uptime/reliability and improving product quality.
- Develop test methods and hardware interfaces to exercise and test equipment under repair.
- Define and write preventative maintenance BKM’s, and other maintenance procedures.
- Consult with fab maintenance personnel to resolve challenging fab tool failures.
- May provide leadership by mentoring and training maintenance technicians.
