The Automotive Power Solutions group seeks a skilled and motivated engineering technician to support the applications engineering team with high quality power electronics laboratory work. This includes developing test assemblies where electro-mechanical integration is key. The successful candidate will help conceive, design, fabricate, assemble, operate, and maintain bench-top setups that test the performance of onsemi parts for real-life applications. The Automotive Power Solutions group is developing state-of-the-art silicon and silicon-carbide power electronic systems to enable vehicle electrification globally. This position offers the opportunity to develop electro-mechanical hardware, teststand control software, interfaces between digital controllers and the test apparatus, working with high accuracy instrumentation in a power laboratory, while developing 3D CAD modeling and computer simulation skills. - Basic knowledge of:
- Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
- Handler setup and conversion
- Semiconductor device fundamentals
- Familiarity with:
- Test execution and troubleshooting methods
- Basic data analysis and interpretation
- Proficient in MS Excel and basic report preparation
- Graduate of Associate/Diploma or Technology course in:
- Electronics Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- or equivalent technical course
Experience:
- Preferably with experience in semiconductor manufacturing or test operations
- Background in ATE environment, handler operations, or device testing is an advantage
- Perform handler conversion and setup to support device/package qualification requirements
- Assist in ATE tester setup and configuration based on engineering instructions
- Support execution of engineering (ENGG) lot testing, ensuring compliance to defined test flows
- Conduct fall-out verification to confirm test rejects and ensure result accuracy
- Perform spike checking to identify abnormal trends or inconsistencies in test data
- Assist in initial failure analysis and fall-out investigation, escalating issues as needed
- Compile, organize, and maintain test reports and engineering documentation
- Ensure proper material handling, storage, and traceability in accordance with company procedures
- Maintain equipment readiness, perform basic troubleshooting, and ensure housekeeping standards are met
- Adhere strictly to onsemi quality standards, ESD protocols, and safety guidelines
- Coordinate effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams to meet project milestones and deliverables
