This Sales Director will be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a talented sales team who supports our most strategic North American automotive tier-1 customers.

  • BS degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or equivalent, preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the automotive semiconductor sales, preferred.
  • A proven track record of leading a successful team in winning designs and growing revenue, preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Fluency (written and oral) in English
  • Ability to travel as needed to achieve strategic objectives (25%)

  • Empower, motivate, and inspire a team of Global Account Managers and Field Sales Engineers to achieve success.
  • Attract, hire, develop, and retain top sales talent.
  • Work with team to develop and execute sales business strategies to maximize revenue growth, increase profitability, and market share.
  • Lead team to meet or exceed assigned revenue and design-win targets.
  • Knock down barriers that are hindering the team from achieving their goals.
  • Cultivate strong, effective, and professional relationships with key executive stakeholders both internally and with customers.
  • Help team drive timely and effective resolution of customer issues.
  • Work collaboratively with team to develop and execute 5-year strategic plans.
  • Allocate sales resources so to maximizes ROI.
  • Develop and present business case for new opportunities to sales and business unit leadership for alignment and support.
  • Develop deep understanding of assigned customers’ commercial and technical requirements.
  • Support team in negotiating and closing strategic design-wins and long-term supply agreements.
  • Gain deep knowledge of onsemi product portfolio and value proposition.
  • Gain deep knowledge of competitor analysis and market intelligence. Communicate to sales and business unit leadership to ensure onsemi stays ahead of its competition.
  • Provide timely and accurate demand and revenue forecasts for assigned accounts.

The Candidate

  • Skills and Experience -- Deep market knowledge and experience leading a successful sales team in the automotive segment. Strong existing relationships with automotive customer base. Proven ability to attract, hire and retain top talent and build a high-performance sales team. Excellent cross-functional leadership, motivational and executive communication skills. Sales management, customer interface, solutions selling, contract negotiating, and design winning experience is a must.

  • Shaping strategy – Proven track record in creating and articulating a compelling and inspiring vision for a team. Demonstrated ability to formulate, communicate, present, and execute winning sales strategies ground-up.

  • Leadership – Passionate, positive, enthusiastic and team oriented. A bold and empathetic leader who is viewed as having a high degree of integrity and forethought in their decision making. Comfortable with ambiguity, nimble, resilient and able to lead others through transformation and change.

  • Teamwork and collaboration – Creates and open and transparent environment and a culture of success. Encourages others to share the spotlight, supports and celebrates the success of the team. Builds effective relationships at all levels of the organization. Inspires trust and followership in others through compelling influence, passion in their beliefs and active drive.   • Accountability and performance – Creates a culture where people feel a sense of ownership in their objectives and are expected to deliver results. Entrepreneurial with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, focused on timely execution of deliverables and closing design-wins.
