Job Title: Reliability Lab Operator

Role Overview

Onsemi is seeking an Electrical Reliability Test Operator to support our Allen, Texas Rel Lab operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily execution and monitoring of routine electrical stress and environmental durability tests on semiconductor devices. Working under direct supervision, you will follow strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) to load, monitor, and unload sensitive electronics from specialized test equipment, ensuring a steady and safe testing workflow.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or laboratory environment. (Semiconductor or electronics assembly experience is a plus, but not required).
  • Technical Skills: * Basic computer proficiency (ability to navigate software interfaces, log data into spreadsheets, and read digital displays).
    • Familiarity with or willingness to learn microscope inspections and delicate component handling.
    • Ability to follow complex, multi-step written and verbal instructions precisely.
  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent technical/vocational training.
  • Attributes: Excellent manual dexterity, high attention to repetitive details, and a strong commitment to workshop safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift standard lab trays or fixtures safely.

Core Responsibilities

  • Test Execution & Loading: Safely load and unload semiconductor devices into specialized test sockets and burn-in boards according to specific lot travelers and procedure checklists.
  • Test Monitoring: Perform routine checks on active tests (such as HTOL or ESD/Latchup cycles) to ensure systems are running smoothly and recording data correctly.
  • First-Line Escalation: Identify and immediately report obvious testing interruptions, equipment error codes, or physical anomalies to the lab technicians and engineering team.
  • Basic Documentation: Accurate logging of start/stop times, batch numbers, board configurations, and run statuses in the lab tracking database.
  • Inventory & ESD Handling: Adhere strictly to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safety protocols when handling, packing, and moving sensitive semiconductor components within the facility.
