Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity to join the semiconductor manufacturing team as an Entry-Level Equipment Engineer supporting Plating Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plating equipment used in semiconductor package assembly processes. You will work closely with Process, Production, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure equipment reliability, product quality, and continuous improvement in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  2. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Relevant internship, university projects, or industrial training experience in manufacturing environments will be an added advantage.
  3. Basic knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
  4. Understanding of electroplating principles, chemical processes, and process control is an advantage.
  5. Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems is preferred.
  6. Knowledge of statistical analysis, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement tools such as 8D, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, SPC, or Six Sigma is an added advantage.
  7. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, schematics, and engineering documentation.
  8. Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  10. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  11. Willing to work in a cleanroom manufacturing environment and support shift operations when required.
  12. Self-motivated, eager to learn, and committed to continuous improvement and professional development.

  1. Develop a strong understanding of semiconductor plating processes, including electroplating and surface finishing technologies.
  2. Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities for plating equipment to maximize tool uptime and manufacturing productivity.
  3. Monitor equipment performance, process parameters, and production trends to ensure stable and reliable plating operations.
  4. Troubleshoot equipment-related issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve equipment effectiveness.
  5. Collaborate with Process Engineers to optimize plating process performance, yield, and product quality.
  6. Assist in equipment installation, qualification, and commissioning activities for new plating tools and process upgrades.
  7. Support root cause analysis (RCA) and failure investigations related to equipment and process excursions.
  8. Perform routine equipment inspections, calibrations, and health checks to ensure compliance with operational specifications.
  9. Work closely with Production and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and support continuous manufacturing operations.
  10. Generate and maintain equipment maintenance records, technical reports, spare parts inventories, and engineering documentation.
  11. Support continuous improvement projects focused on equipment reliability, process capability, cycle time reduction, and cost optimization.
  12. Develop proficiency in plating system components, including rectifiers, pumps, filters, chemical dosing systems, temperature controllers, and automation systems.
  13. Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality requirements, and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.
  14. Be safety-conscious when working with electrical systems, automated equipment, chemicals, plating solutions, and other manufacturing hazards.
