The Chemical Operations Technician is responsible for the safe handling, transfer, monitoring, and distribution of bulk and specialty chemicals used in semiconductor manufacturing processes. This position ensures uninterrupted chemical supply to production tools, maintains chemical distribution systems, performs routine operational checks, and supports troubleshooting activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient fab operations.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, chemical, or technical operations environment preferred.
- Ability to follow detailed operating procedures and work instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to safely work with hazardous chemicals and wear required PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Basic computer skills for documentation, data entry, and monitoring system interfaces.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or semiconductor support operations.
- Experience with chemical distribution systems, bulk chemical delivery systems, or hazardous material handling.
- Knowledge of process equipment, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and automated control systems.
- Experience working in cleanroom environments.
- HAZWOPER, hazardous materials, or emergency response training.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated equipment.
- Ability to lift and move materials within established guidelines.
- Ability to wear respirators and other required PPE.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom and industrial environment.
Hourly: onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $21.20 to $36.92 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor chemical distribution and delivery systems that supply manufacturing tools throughout the semiconductor fabrication facility.
- Perform routine inspections of chemical storage, transfer, and distribution equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, piping, and monitoring systems.
- Execute chemical change-outs, transfers, and replenishment activities in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.
- Monitor chemical inventories and coordinate replenishment activities to ensure uninterrupted supply to manufacturing operations.
- Respond to equipment alarms and process abnormalities and perform initial troubleshooting to restore normal operations.
- Conduct system rounds, document operational data, and maintain accurate records and logs.
- Support preventive maintenance activities and assist maintenance and engineering teams during equipment repairs and system upgrades.
- Follow all environmental, health, and safety requirements related to hazardous chemicals and materials handling.
- Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all chemical handling procedures.
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in emergency response activities as required by site procedures.
- Maintain compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
