onsemi is seeking a highly motivated and versatile Facilities Engineer. This role is responsible for the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical facility systems supporting semiconductor manufacturing operations.
We are seeking a strong background in mechanical, chemical, or facilities engineering and the ability to manage multiple disciplines, including chemical distribution systems, specialty gases, HVAC, Ultra Pure Water (UPW), boilers, contamination control, sustainability initiatives, and utility infrastructure. This individual will serve as the primary owner for several strategic programs and work cross-functionally to drive operational excellence, cost savings, and long-term facility reliability.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Facilities Engineering
- Or a related engineering discipline
- 3 years of engineering experience in semiconductor manufacturing, advanced technology, chemical processing, or other highly regulated industrial environments.
Facilities Systems Ownership
- Provide engineering support for critical facility systems, including:
- Chemical delivery and distribution systems
- Specialty and bulk gas systems
- Pollution Abatement
- HVAC systems and cleanroom environmental controls
- Ultra Pure Water (UPW) generation and distribution systems
- Industrial Waste Water
- Boiler and thermal utility systems
- Compressed air, vacuum, and industrial utilities
- Develop and execute reliability, maintenance, and improvement strategies for assigned systems.
- Troubleshoot complex utility and facility-related issues affecting manufacturing operations.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Program Management & Strategic Initiatives
Act as the primary owner and leader of key facility programs, including:
- ESG & Net Zero Initiatives
- Support sustainability objectives, carbon reduction efforts, water conservation, and energy efficiency projects.
- Develop and track metrics supporting corporate ESG goals.
- Facilities Cost Reduction Program
- Identify, develop, and implement utility and operational cost-saving initiatives.
- Analyze trends in energy, water, gas, and chemical consumption and develop improvement plans.
- Contamination Control Program
- Support cleanroom contamination control strategies and environmental monitoring initiatives.
- Drive best practices associated with semiconductor manufacturing environments.
- Ultra Pure Water (UPW) Program
- Own monitoring, optimization, reliability, and continuous improvement activities associated with UPW systems.
- Ensure water quality meets manufacturing and customer requirements.
- Lead additional engineering and operational excellence programs as assigned.
Project Engineering
- Manage facility improvement and capital projects from concept through commissioning.
- Develop scopes of work, equipment specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and project justifications.
- Coordinate contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Support equipment installation, startup, qualification, and performance verification.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure systems comply with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM), hazardous chemical management, and risk assessments.
- Participate in incident investigations, audits, and corrective action programs.
- Promote a strong culture of safety within all facility operations.
