onsemi is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional to join the Supplier Quality Engineering team. As a Staff Supplier Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity of leading the qualification projects of our most advanced technologies and participating in a broad range of supplier quality activities in a highly dynamic working environment.
Performance Objectives
- Ensure that products and materials supplied to onsemi comply with applicable drawings, specifications, manufacturing requirements, quality standards, and reliability expectations.
- Lead supplier development and quality improvement activities across new product introduction, new technology introduction, qualification, and mass production.
- Build quality into supplier products and processes by emphasizing early risk identification, defect prevention, process robustness, and effective corrective and preventive action.

NPI/NTI and Supplier Development
- Lead Supplier Quality Engineering activities for NPI and NTI programs to ensure supplier product, process, capacity, and quality readiness support onsemi time-to-market requirements.
- Partner with suppliers, R&D, Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Global Commodity Management to define requirements and resolve design, material, manufacturability, and quality risks early.
- Drive APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, DFM/DFQ, process validation, measurement-system readiness, and qualification evidence for assigned commodities and suppliers.
Supplier Performance and Quality Improvement
- Serve as the Seremban site Supplier Quality lead for assigned critical direct materials and supplier-quality improvement initiatives supporting released products.
- Monitor supplier quality performance, identify adverse trends and systemic risks, and lead improvement plans for poor-performing or high-risk suppliers.
- Lead rapid containment, structured root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive action, effectiveness verification, and recurrence prevention for supplier-related quality issues.
- Track, manage, and report assigned quality initiatives, supplier recovery plans, qualification status, risks, and executive-level escalations.
Critical Direct Materials and Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership for critical direct materials such as AMB/DCB, ceramic, substrate, leadframe, tape-and-reel materials, mold compound, wire, solder paste, sintering materials, and related power-semiconductor materials.
- Evaluate supplier product and process capability, material characteristics, metrology, reliability performance, process robustness, and change-control effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain commodity-specific supplier assessment, qualification, control, and prevention requirements from product development through mass production.
Audits, Qualification, and Quality Systems
- Plan and conduct supplier system, process, product, qualification, and special-process audits, particularly for new suppliers, new technologies, transfers, and significant supplier changes.
- Lead supplier qualification audits and ensure timely closure and effectiveness verification of corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate supplier-quality records, audit evidence, qualification documentation, and risk assessments in accordance with onsemi procedures and applicable automotive-quality requirements.
Global Collaboration and Standardization
- Collaborate with SQE, SDE, IQA, manufacturing sites, and subject-matter experts across the global organization to solve technical issues and build quality synergy.
- Drive standardization across worldwide factories for material verification, supplier assessment, qualification, audit methods, change control, and supplier performance management.
- Partner with Global Commodity Managers to support cost and supply-chain objectives while maintaining appropriate quality, reliability, and risk controls.
