onsemi, based in East Fishkill, New York, is seeking a motivated engineering student to join the Defect Inspection group as a summer intern. At onsemi, we build advanced power semiconductors that help drive industry forward. Our team supports the inspection of wafers at various points in production for defectivity, supporting health of line in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
As a Defect Inspection intern, you will gain hands-on experience with inspection tools while working alongside experienced Defect Engineers and Technicians. You will participate in real-world engineering work such as data analysis, recipe creation, and cross-functional initiatives to reduce defectivity.

Requirements:
To be considered for an internship, you must be currently enrolled in a degree seeking program. This position is specifically looking for someone who is pursuing BS Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, materials engineering, or other related subject.

onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $26.00 -$44.00 per hour exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members. - Generate defect Pareto charts, identify the root causes of top defects, and work with module teams to drive continuous improvement .
- Work with defect application engineers to improve DOI (defect of interest) detection.
- Create and execute DOE (design of experiments), analyze data, and communicate results with recommendations to broader technical teams.
- Understand statistical concepts, such as multivariate and univariate analysis.
- Demonstrate project management skills, such as defining milestones and estimating timelines to complete activities.
