Position Overview

As a Staff Engineer in Power Solutions Group (PSG) Business Unit Operations, you will drive strategic cost and quality programs across the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to execute PSG’s cost and quality strategies in partnership with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Technology Development teams.

  • Develop front-end fabrication and back-end cost and quality strategies, optimization initiatives, and design solutions that support the needs of our rapidly growing discrete, integrated circuit, and power module businesses.
  • Partner with Business Unit Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and other teams to improve cost structures, supply-chain performance, and product quality.
  • Develop and continuously improve methods, systems, and processes in a complex, fast-changing environment.
  • Collaborate with product engineers and program and project managers to advance strategic Business Unit Operations initiatives focused on cost and quality.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Eight to ten years of experience in semiconductor business operations and/or hands-on semiconductor manufacturing, including wafer fabrication, assembly, and/or test.
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, quality, test engineering, or product engineering is highly preferred.
  • Experience in new product development (NPD) and release to market (RTM) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to communicate concise findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • This is a fully office-based position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with semiconductor product, platform, or technology development processes.
  • Strong proficiency in applying process, factory, and product qualification requirements.
  • A strong cross-functional network across wafer fabrication, assembly and test, technology development, cost reduction, quality improvement, and yield management.
  • Proficiency in engineering and business statistical methods and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze high-volume data to identify opportunities to improve product cost structures and quality.

• Use multiple tools and systems to identify cost-saving opportunities and supply-chain improvements.

• Collaborate across teams to implement PSG business priorities.

• Work with global, cross-functional teams to address customer quality issues, returns (RMA), and cost, while driving continuous improvements that reduce customer return rates.
